ORIGINES ET DÉBUTS DE L'IMPRIMERIE A POITIERS, BIBLIOGRAP...
by Claudin, A.

Each volume only printed in 200 copies (Besterman 5102). Chapters in the first volume break down printing activity in the city into four different periods. In some cases, a single period is dealt with in more than one chapter, by way of separating out different aspects for individual treatment. The bibliography of works follows the text. Volume two contains some prefatory remarks, a table of the books reproduced, and the reproductions themselves. Some of the documentary and codex reproductions are fold-outs. Some type specimens included at the very end of the second volume. Supplementary booklet loosely inserted in back. Memorial bookplate on front pastedown indicates that this copy came from the H.P. Kraus reference library and stock. Some pages detached from binding. Many pages unopened. Pages variously faded, and exceptionally brittle. The plate volume is printed on better paper.
