Norstedts, the Swedish Royal Printing Office, has a collection of about 20,000 matrices made between 1500 and 1850 by such famous founders as Francois Guyot, Robert Granjon and P.S. Fournier le jeune. In addition to the history of the firm, Axel-Nilsson has reproduced hundreds of specimens by casting new type from the original matrices. An important history of typefounding.
