Signed letter from Appleton laid in expaining that the press's Christmas book was "one casualty" of relocation along with "subsequent building works and other non-book activities" during the year. Letter refers to the Old School Press.

One of 100 copies (of 125 total) with 12 double leaves ( 8 leaves on toned laid hand-made paper & 4 leaves cream laid paper) folded at the fore-edge. Eight copper-engravings by Brian Hanscomb illustrate the text. There were a limited supply of the hand-made papers for the engravings, hence the preliminary and subsidiary leaves were printed on a different stock. Very scarce.
