Part one begins with a preface by Abel Lefranc concerning the deceased, Hector de Backer and his collection. De Backer was the president of the Société des Bibliophiles et Iconophiles de Belgique prior to his death. Loss of leather at head and tail of the spine on volumes one and two and four, Spine lacking on volume three, All four volumes have rubbing to the spine edges. Minor wear to the edges of boards and corners.
