Portfolio with three maps from Gerhard Mercator in 41 loose plates. Illustrates Europe in 15 leaves, the British Isles in 8 leaves and a world map in 18 leaves. Two pages of text in German. Bookplate from the Long Island Historical Society on the front paste-down. Portfolio is soiled with chipping and cracking to spine. Corners are worn. Map leaves are chipped and brittle, with loss of paper along the edges of the plates.

Laid-down on the final leaf is a small broadside, with text noting the death of Bewick, his place of burial, and his descendants, set between two Bewick funereal vignettes. Removed from larger volume.
