Twelve broadsides, each representing the work of an individual poet who gave a reading at the Center for Book Arts in New York, are enclosed in an artistic portfolio that not only provides protection but also appeals to the eye. As part of the Broadside Reading Series, each author creates a broadside of one of their poems that captures the essence of the verse and the story they are telling. Includes works by Kevin Prufer, Scott Hightower, Amy Lemmon, Jennifer Kwon Dobbs, David Lehman, Colette Inez, Rigoberto Gonzalez, Nicole Walker, Brenda Connor-Bey, D.A. Powell, Nicole Cooley and Emily Fragos. Produced in a signed limited edition of 100, the broadsides are reserved for the yearly portfolios. The design of the 2007 portfolio, which was created last year, features a center opening that fastens with grey grosgrain ribbon. The boards are covered in paper printed with a design of letters in shades of blue over grey rectangles. The title in red is repeated in various fonts and sizes on the front while on the back, the single line is framed top and bottom with two lines of printers' ornaments. The front cover flaps open to reveal a pop-up box that contains the individual broadsides.
