First edition, limited to 500 copies (S-K 847; Mejer 386). The Danish Museum of Decorative Arts mounted this 1906 exhibit of old bookbindings. A preface by Hannover provides an overview of the material that follows. The catalog is divided into: the old style and the new style. The former includes examples from the 15th and 16th centuries, with numerous examples of bound Aldus publications. The later includes examples from the 17th and 18th centuries. A section at rear is devoted to Danish and Norwegian bindings. All 144 books are pictured in black-and-white. In Danish. Minor cover wear. Ownership inscription in pencil.
