DICTIONARY, WITH THE PROGRESS OF LITERATURE ANCIENT AND M...
by Timperley, C.H.
First editions of both volumes. (Bigmore & Wyman III, 12). Oak Knoll has had this book bound with the two titles once before. B & W say that the dictionary is "One of the most interesting works a printer can possess; while laying no claim to originality it is full of anecdote and historical facts." The manual was abridged from Hansard (1825) with an essay on punctuation deriving from Mason (1810) - JPHS, E19, St. Bride p.895. Lacks one of the 11 plates in the first volume (p.94) and the frontispiece in the second volume. Contains the folding specimen of brass rules in the second title. Bookplate.
